  Leap Snow

Mar 08 2010

“Real Winter”

Once in a while, every couple years, almost with the consistency of leap years, there will be enough snow falling in Dallas to cover the ground.  Nothing like 7-foot snow accumulation like some of y’all in the Northern get, but enough.

Well this year, the snow coverage is … shall we say, decent.  More than one foot of pristine powdery goodness.  My daughter had a record number of making 5 snow-angels :)

As I drive around Dallas in the snowy (but not slushy, yet) road, I recorded some of the most bizzarre scenes I’ve seen in a while.  Mind you, I’m not making fun of things, this much snow caused a lot of families around here headache in the form of days-long power outage.

Say what?? I know… I know, I lived in Iowa for almost four years, in the Midwest or East Coast, this little snow won’t even register as a burp on the grid.   But hey, this is Texas, pardner ;)

Anyways, as seen in the above picture, here’s a slide show for you (now that people here can start looking back and laugh about it):

Some funny ones:

“Freezing my … here”

“Even Godzilla”

“Whaddya mean … need more ICE ?”

“I’ve seen this pose before…”

“Nuff said!”
